Sadness--Copyright © 1999 Serena Sadness is the feeling you get when someone you love tells you that they don't love you anymore. It's the color of a gray rain cloud floating in the sky. It sounds like a sea of tall grass swaying in the wind. It smells like the odor you smell outside right before it rains. It looks like smog in a big city. It makes me feel like i could cry for hours about anything and everything. Sadness is the feeling you get when your bestest friend moves far away. It is the color of the darkest midnight. It sounds like a person's last breath. It tastes like sour milk. It looks like the face of a child who has lost it's favorite toy. It makes me feel vulnerable. Sadness is like when a child goes to feed it's pet bird and discovers the door wide open and the cage empty. It is the color of the water in a tadpole infested mudpuddle. It's the sound of a trumpet player belting out Amazing Grace. It tastes like bittersweet chocolate. It smells like a funeral home. It looks like the many layers of dust on an old piece of furniture. It makes me sleepy. Sadness is just another emotion.
